62 conv new owner
I am a new member and def not a spammer. I just purchased a 1962 Lincoln convertible. I found the car in CA where I live. Don’t know much about the history of the car because it was a repo car that was gifted to an employee of the company who repoed the car. It’s in pretty good shape. It’s been shipped off to an a specialist to start the process of restoration. I look forward to reading old threads and learning.

When did this gift transaction occur?
As an in-house financing car dealer I am pretty versed on the laws of repossession and what you described there is illegal. That would be considered theft for a good number of reasons...

Hi D. Welcome to the Forum. Hope everything straightens out successfully with the car's restoration (especially that pesky convertible top) and with the ownership trail. Photos??

1Bad, nothing illegal. Title was transferred from the lien holder to the employee. All done through the DMV. I had zero issues changing title and registering the car in my name.
Rick, top is def not working but that will be addressed in time. For now, we are focused on the engine etc. Once I figure out the color scheme I will be ordering a new top from Leather Restorations in Florida. I’ll try to attache a picture. Not sure how to attache a picture.

Nice. Your air cleaner is not original. Other than the wheels (which I am not judging), I can't tell much else.

Yes, air cleaner is def not original. Rims will be changed. Its original color was chestnut. Never seen that color and had to look it up.

Just a heads up for when you are working on the windows, wiring changed in '63. Although the switches look the same they are not, and '61/'62 convertible rear window switches are a little different than all the others. They look the same and will plug in, but won't work, there are some threads on here that explain.
Also, Brewer Classic Lincoln can help with the top.
