New Owner 1963 Sedan

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

Welcome to the forum. We’re here to help you help yourself.

Feel free to post some pics of your car, give us any background, your goals, your experience, etc.

We don’t know what you know, and we can help you best if we have an idea of how much car experience you have. Beginner to advanced to “what is a car?”

Dittos with Dan's welcome :smt006 ! My grand's first Lincoln was a '63 sedan, loaded down with just about everything a sedan could have.

I say the first thing you should get, before anything else, is shop references for that particular year. You can find them on E-Bay, or maybe here as well; for a donation one can acquire a lot of shop manuals and supplemental references.

Sane year as mine.
Spend some time browsing through the forum. There is a lot of good info in old posts.

Welcome!

Like your choice of years, but then again, I'm partial.

Where are you located?

Pictures would be nice.

Sorry for my late reply!

First, and probably foremost, I’ve included some pics 😂

A little about me and my experience. I’m 42. I’ve wanted a continental (sedan) since I was around 13. I vowed that I would have one one day. I’m a member of a Continental buy-sell-trade group on Facebook, and when I saw this one pop up for sale, I jumped on it.

I am former Army (15Q - Air Traffic Controller), and former law enforcement. I left LE once the trauma got too bad. Now I work as a counselor for the state helping Veterans obtain their benefits.

As for automotive experience, I’ve done light mechanic work, but nothing complicated. I plan on learning on this car. I know, I know, I chose a hell of a car to learn on!

Thank you again for the warm welcome!

A hardtop!!! Search the posts here on hardtops, I'm sure it is a conversion, only a handful of '61s were ever made, but it's cool to see.

Hey there!

The pillars were done when I got the car, but here are some pics and a video that the seller sent me. It’s actually pretty slick, though I’d like to get some convertible glass to just be done with the pillar for good.

Nice conversion of the pillar and windows, though that is something I would never do, primarily due to air- and water-leakage at the windows, which could be why Lincoln abandoned the idea of a "hardtop" in the conventional context. Still, nicely done.

Welcome from another classic LC gas guzzler but EV daily driver to another...... Going of the second pic that has a EV charge cord in the background. Love the b pillar delete. Tried getting more info on how to do it in the past but abandoned the idea. Never seemed to find it complete and all cleaned up.
