The key here is to get ALL of the factory glue out of the brackets! Once you get all the glue out, run your grinder through the inside of the channel to scuff everything up so the new adhesive sticks. As for mounting the front bracket go as far forward as possible without overlapping the chrome trim. As for the rear you can measure where the guide rod is in the door and aligne off of that. There is no real way to mess this up since there is so much adjustment in the front bracket. The rear bracket does nothing in terms of alignment in this design. I will grab you some measurements and pictures tomorrow morning when I get to the shop.

I didn't think it was necessary to measure it out. As you can see the brackets are glued on as far out as possible without overlapping the chrome trim. Again there is enough adjustment and space in the guide rods where you can't mess this up.
