I was thinking that, but it is covered with the top chest, with a rubber mat and diamond plate between them, so it doesnt show...It still bugs me knowing its there, but maybe enough daily stress will make me forget lol. I will try to plug the hole, but not now. I have to get better at welding and figure out how to paint it to blend with the powder coating...but, reality is, that the mechanism may fail again, or fail regularly, so having that back door might be useful.

You'll probably forget it over time anyway.
Locks only keep honest people out of tool boxes anyway.

Very true...I mean, I got in the box, and once I figured out I was going to drill, it took me 10 minutes and I was in.
