Driver side core and/or valve is starting to leak. I have had the car for 30 years and the heaters has never worked, but the cores have not leaked until now. Read in old posts that it is recommended the updating to ‘62 cores and control valves. However, in the process I will need to temporarily bypass the cores while I disassemble them
Is it any easier to do the bypass up at the engine, or at the core(s) behind the wheel splash pans?
Here goes another $500…

Re: 61 heater core bypass question
Ken,
I have two very good 1962 cores but I don't have the control valves.
You can have them both for $20 plus shipping.
Just put in temporary mechanical shut offs on the lines before taking everything apart.
