Oil Filler cap '66 462 open system

Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

Well, it looks "right" with regards to fitting on the pipe; but of course, without the oil-separator tube it will not be OE-factory authentic.

Are you talking about the cap in post #1?

Of course, the one thing that I did not says is that I have two 66 parts cars in the yard, and they both probably have this cap.

No, I was referring to the one pictured in post #15, without the separator tube. That one will fit onto the filler pipe, but it most likely will not be as efficient in trapping oil. I'm thinking the aftermarket designers did not see the purpose of that center tube and filter, and they decided to leave it off as extraneous. It isn't the first time the aftermarket botched the reproduction of an original design; I mean, let's not forget the botched reproduction of the fuel pump.

The one pictured in post #1 is the proper design, original-factory.

The picture used in post 15 was swiped from the world wide web to use as an example of the clips to hold the cap to the pipe.

That example is a typical and correct for early 1960s FE engine oil fill cap. While that cap is a reproduction, the OE design for FE engines is the same way.

This is how my cap was completed.
Under that sticker is a FORD logo stamped into the metal.

That’s perfect. I need to find a replacement for mine. Too much pitting in the metal.

I got my sticker at RTRW. It was added to an existing order because it weighs next to nothing.

That's the direction that I'll go. Just have to find an actual cap that is better than my own.

John Brewer has one or two that are different.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-1966-Linc ... ondition=4

Which just throws some doubt on this whole thread. That one he has does not have the short pipe in the center.
Which may be a difference between the B6AZ and the C6VY he mentions in his post dated 12-05-2019 at 10:24. (Wish these posts were numbered)
Then there is the C3AZ

I am a bit confused

No idea what the one in the Ebay link fits. Certainly not a 462 equipped car. Too wide and no integrated tube.
