1941 Continental Barn Find

I inherited this 41 Lincoln from my dad. When he found it it did not have an engine and frame was gone. He restored the body and put it on an 80's era Pontiac or Olds chassis. It still needs some work so I may keep it and finish the restoration. If I like it I may keep it but at this point am considering selling it as is. Any idea what I should ask for it? Where could I get a Lincoln steering wheel to match the Pontiac column? Also where would I find the VIN tag?

You have a custom creation. A one of a kind with no comparisons. It isn't a Lincoln and it isn't a Pontiac. It is a one of a kind. As such it is very difficult to put a value on it. Then there is condition. To compare it to a 1941 Lincoln may be a starting place. You can look at NADA guides. However I am not sure that data would apply because the chassis is not a Lincoln. Anyone interested in a 1941 Lincoln would not want that car. However there are kits to install fiberglass kits like this. That would be the best comparison.

As to the steering wheel, I would be surprised if a Lincoln (or any non-GM vehicle) steering wheel would bolt to the column. If you find a steering wheel, you might want to get an entire steering column. And going that route has issues as well.

If you don't like the Pontiac steering wheel, you might be better off finding a billet steering wheel. Just a new, no automotive brand, replacement steering wheel such as are used on rat rods or hot rods. You would have to find one made to fit on a GM column of that era.

examples: Something like this is fairly similar to an early Lincoln but there are many other choices.

There are also people out there who want an old looking car that is relatively safe to drive. They are not interested in authenticity or branding. This car would be welcome at most local car shoes and drive-ins, and would most likely be admired. Wayne

Thanks for all the great advice. My dad was a amazing car builder. He would basically build what he liked and wasn't always concerned with originality. I also have a 1949 MG TC that is original. I also have an MG C with an aluminum V8 and a MGTF with an aluminum V8. If I do try and sell it should I bother trying to finish it? I could put a convertible top on it and finish the interior without too much added expense. If I try and sell it as is would a starting price of $25K be high or low? It runs and has a clean title, body is in great shape, dash is mostly complete with new harness.
