I remember when it was thought that it would NOT be good to "gut" a catalytic converter on a car with a carburetor. What about fuel-injected engines? Is that alleged 'risk' still present? [This question is borne of the thought that 80s TCs are no longer required to pass emission tests.. in most states / provinces.)
I wouldn't think that FoMoCo RWDs with either type of fuel-injection.. is dependent for manifold vacuum for functioning (at least directly). But I figure that "somebody" on this forum should know.
Anybody w/ these TCs ever 'gut' the c. conv.?
