Looking to verify my Vin number by checking for stamped vin # on body or frame. Does anybody know where these are located ??
p.s. I already know about dash & door plate locations.

VIN.
There isn't one on the frame. The only numbers I could ever find on the frame were date codes. No VIN. No Partial VIN. No serial number. I don't even think I found a body code.
The official body tag is either on the dash or the door, but you knew that.
There IS a serialized tag under the fenders on the body at the cowl, but you have to remove the front clip to see it. If you are planning on doing a fill-body restoration, then you'll see it.
Here is where it was located on my 1970 Mercury: The number will be the first two digits of the VIN (Year and Factory Code) and then the 6-digit serial number.

There is also a serial number stamped on the block at the rear drivers side just below the head and one on the transmission on the top-middle where the ribs end on the bellhousing.
Of course, if the motor and tranny were ever replaced, they won't match.
Many people (well, a couple here) from Europe have asked for VIN stamps on the frame of their 70s Lincoln only to find out that Ford didn't do it, at least not until 1980 or later.
