Weather for Saturday is looking iffy
Of course, what would a car show in the Great Lakes Basin be without some rain in the forecast

And today, two days later, the weather forecast looks much better.

I heard there were about 170 cars registered for the meet. Is that true?

It's in your registration packet, but not so clearly described.

Friday BBQ is at the Gilmore. I'm confirming the time.

The Saturday banquet is at the Gilmore. The time will likely be after the dedication, which is at 5PM. I expect dinner to be served 6:30 or 7PM. I hope it's sooner, not later. Since the dedication will only be about 20-30m (god forbid if it is longer), that leaves 60-90m before dinner. That's too long in my book.

Thanks Dan.
but not so clearly described
I know, no actual location indicated, nor time as well. I guess we'll just go with the flow.

I suspect the time between dedication and the meal is to return to hotel and change into a suit (?) and drive back.....or are we to be in semi-formal wear for the dedication (just thinking out loud here, I'm sure it will jell together)?

Sharon wants to know when she can drive to the venue to meet me, etc.....

I'm afraid you'll have to determine the details when you arrive. The michigan LCOC is letting the LOC Do the heavy legwork and planning. I'm just going along for the ride.

Latest information on mi-LCOC website

http://www.michiganlcoc.org/portal25/ju ... nute-notes
There will be a hose for washing your Lincoln at the Four Points Sheraton, but we cannot guarantee one at any of the other hotels. You are responsible for bringing your own soap, towels, buckets, etc.

Check your registration packet for extra information after your pick it up at the Sheraton for extra details not posted here. Regardless of which hotel at which you are staying, your registration materials will be at the Sheraton.

You will have to pay the museum admission fee on Saturday to see the cars regardless of whether you have pre-registered or not. The gate fees for Saturday, August 9 are going towards the foundation to fund the museum! This is for the general public as well as show attendees.

Due to safety concerns, anyone who wishes to park their Lincoln on the showfield within the grounds of the Gilmore Museum must arrive before 11AM. We cannot have cars moving on the field during the afternoon as it is a safety hazard!

Any cars on the showfield cannot leave until the field is dismissed or 3PM. If you cannot stay until 3PM, don't pay to park on the showfield ($50 the day of the show).

We can only allow Lincolns on the show field, not other makes of classic cars. We might bend this rule with a significant donation to the foundation, however.

The building dedication will be at the Gilmore at 5PM. It should be no more than 30 minutes, but we do not have details on the speakers, etc.

The Friday Barbecue is at the Gilmore. Time is TBD, but likely starts around 6PM. You do not have to pay museum admission to attend the BBQ.

The Saturday banquet is at the Gilmore. Time is TBD, but likely dinner will be served around 6:30 to 7PM.

Check back to this website for the latest information as the show gets closer. For any questions, please email Greg Bilpuch.

I assume the attire for dinner is dressy? If we can't leave the show field until 3:00, and the dedication starts at 5:00, that's not much time to drive back to the hotel, get freshened up, and make it back by 5:00.

I think we'll have to let people leave by 2 or 2:30.

In the RCAF we used to have a slang, "helmet fire".

An example of its use could be a follows, "They have reached the point in the operation where the planners are all having a helmet fire".

When all is said and done, we won't be wearing our dinner suits (it does call for jacket and tie) during the day, so one must drive back to town to change prior to dinner.

One would hope when the dust settles, that the dedication is right before dinner, thus a window of ample time would present itself after the show field is released but before the dedication to allow everyone to freshen up and change........
