OFFICIAL THREAD: Gas Prices, your Lincoln, and you

Post by autostick »

Admin, 22Dec2014: Took an older thread about holiday gas prices and made it a sticky for any gas discussion.

How's gas prices in your area this 4th of July? In the last month it dropped almost a dollar here in Ohio. I also notice it goes up at the start of a holiday and drops at the end. Happy Independence Day.

BTW, if you purchased BP gas around Chicago or Milwaulkee you may be part of a class action suit.

As of July 1st, California raised the gas tax 3 and a half cents. The reason given was that gas consumption in the state is down, so the extra money is needed to make up for the shortfall in revenue. The price we have to pay for helping the environment. :roll: We now pay the highest gas tax in the country.

I don't seem to have any problem with 10% ethanol fuel. I use it in a lot of vehicles.

Just got back from a road trip to the outer banks of NC, and saw gas prices from 3.39-3.99. Paid 3.49 this morning at my local gas station. Wayne

Because someone sneezed in Iraq.

Not to derail this thread, but here are my favorite gas price excuses:

* The war in middle east which is where 75% of our supply comes from.
* A pipeline in ________________ broke due to ______________ which is where 75% of our supply comes from.
* There was a tropical storm in the gulf which is where 75% of our supply comes from
* It's a weeday
* It's a weekend
* It's a holiday
* Demand is up
* Demand is down
* It's sunny
* It's rainy...

Hell, that's nothing. I saw it jump 60 cents in one day a few weeks back. 20 cents is pretty much the norm around here, once the weekend gets closer.

Averages $4.03 for regular in Orange County Ca. today. That includes $.72 a gallon for local, state, and federal taxes. Prices have been going down for the last ten days in a row.
