Were Sequential tail lights available on 1970-74 Lincolns?

Any Lincoln fact related question can be posted here. Questions such as how many Contintenal convertibles were produced in MY1965? How much was the Town Car option in 1969? What size of tire was standard on a 1953 Premiere? or Does the Mark II retractible prototype still exist?

Were Sequential tail lights available on 1970-74 Lincolns?

I'm wondering about the slabside models mostly. Were Sequential tail-lights offered at all or standard?

Thanks and PEACE!

No, sequential turn signals were not available on the 70-74 Lincolns. Lincoln never offered sequentials.

Lincoln never offered them. That didn't stop me from putting them on my otherwise stock Mark IV though. :D

Thanks to LINC400 and Jeremy for answering my original question, but I do wonder if it is much trouble to put them on my Lincoln? They would be so cool, and what a shame they never had them, as the 60's T-Birds had them didn't they?

Yes, '60's T-Birds and Cougars had them. I got mine online from Web-Electric. My friend put them on for me. It took him a couple hours.

The only problem is that the owner never gets to enjoy them. You never see your own taillights when you are driving.

For me, the additional ogling from other people (over and above what I already get) would be a euphoric feeling. :D

I installed the Web-Electric kit as well. The hardest part was removing the bumper to get to the harnesses on my '66.

Straight forward instructions, too. Now I just have to get a turn signal switch.

Whew, glad I have a '76. No bumper removal necessary.

Mercury cougar had it from 67 through 73.

T-Bird started in 65 (the similar 64 did not have them) and ran at least through 68, but not past 71.

Some 67-68 Shelby Mustangs and the Mustang California Special MIGHT have had them, they also used Cougar taillights.

No others that I am aware of.

OOPs, the 2010 Mustang has them....

Well,
There was one more car that had factory installed sequential tail light turn signals!

The 1969 Chrysler Imperial
Thanks,
Bill

I will be doing this again, I found a complete LED + sequencing kit and am going to try it this summer.

The kit I have from Webelectric used the factory bulbs which leave a little to be desired in this modern age of brighter and bigger is better. The kit I found has 12 LEDs per section - that's pretty intense considering the best I could find that retrofit an 1157 have 7.
