POST YOUR WHEEL AND TIRE PICS.

This area is for those who need help modernizing their Lincoln for purposes other than strict restoration. Such questions can be about adding an electric fuel pump, adding fuel injection, boosting horsepower or gas mileage, or tightening or lowering the suspension. Body customizing and chopping can also be here (although this practice is not encouraged by the LCOC).

POST YOUR WHEEL AND TIRE PICS.

Post by Urbb007 »

Time for a new one guys. So many of these cars change drastically with your choice of wheel and tire package. If you can, list what kind of wheel and tire and if you had to customize to fit them. Should be a big help to everyone including myself.

The size is the same as stock 235/75/15
I forget what the actual brand of the tire is but Diamond Back Tires is who puts the whites on em(they vulcanize the white on there). They can custom make any size combo you want. They're not cheap, but so far they've been worth every penny.

Btw the website is http://www.dbtires.com

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the info. The only reason I ask is because I have white walls on mine now but they rub on the front end and they seem to have a higher profile than yours. Mine also have an old school radial tread to them. Do you know or could you measure the outside diameter of the tire for me? Here is a couple pics of mine.

I always use this web tool to figure tire diameter.. just enter the size and it figures it for you
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I entered 235/75/15 and it figured 28.9 diameter.

Okay, I found out what mine are but still don't know exactly what size they are. Here is a link to the website with some info, mine are the DenmanClassic IV L-78 15's. http://www.denmantire.com/catalog/p21.pdf These tires I think are too wide because they seem to rub on the a-arm.

20" Boyd Coddington Magneato 8)

BTW, I would be up for a trade+cash for some 3-1/2" to 4" white wall tires to fit stock rims.

Kind of a street machine on the cheap look....
15x8 Cragar 441 with 255/70/15 all the way around. 4" BS, I did have to zip tie the front inner fenders back to keep from rubbing and the front tires will rub the frame at full lock when not on level ground.

I did just pick up four different wheels and tires dirt cheap, $40!! But haven't had a chance to try them on... They are off an 4x2 chevy truck that has the same 5 on 5 bolt pattern. They are 15x7's with 235/70/15's and 15x10 (with 4" BS) with 275/60/15's. The rims and tires cleaned up OK but are junk.... But what a cheap way to find out if 15x10's will fit! I'm not sure that even the Mark's huge wheels wells can swallow up a 15x10 with 6" of positive hanging out there.....
You guys in the custom section might enjoy the build up more than the resto guys.....

Also, I've been wanting to try stock steelies, 15x6 fronts on 235/70/15's and 15x8 rears (probably stock chevy truck rally wheels) on 275/60/15's with full hubcaps. I think that would look bitchin!
