1957 Lincoln Continental "station wagon".

Any Lincoln fact related question can be posted here. Questions such as how many Contintenal convertibles were produced in MY1965? How much was the Town Car option in 1969? What size of tire was standard on a 1953 Premiere? or Does the Mark II retractible prototype still exist?

1957 Lincoln Continental "station wagon".

Post by streetrod88 »

I have stumbled on a 1957 Lincoln Continental "station wagon". The owner says he's the second owner and the car is one of about 80 made. I can't find any reference to the factory ever making a station wagon. Can anyone suggest where I might find some info on this vehicle?
Oops sorry guys I finally got the pics looks like we're talking about 1967 not 1957 but still I need your help.
I attempted to attach 2 pics don't know if it worked

It's also not a "Continental" as their only product was the Mark II. There was no "Lincoln Continental" in 1957. Love to see pictures, though.

You guys remember that custom station wagon at the Indy show? Tried to search for the picture on the site, but couldn't find it.

Notice who's car is next to it? That was taken at Ault Park last year. It's incredibly well done. It was lengthened in both door openings. I have some more pictures around here somewhere.

That is one of the finest customs I have ever seen- looks just like what the factory would have done (if they ever would have).

It was seamless. Even the Pioneer Logo was perfect. I had to do a double-take thinking that I saw Premiere. The upholstery was perfect. It was found in a store that sold couches. It had the perfect Lincoln star on it. I believe he said it took three cars to build one. I seem to recall it had Chrysler swivel buckets up front, but you couldn't tell unless you knew what they were. There was something special about the engine. I think it had a 460.

I tipped my hat to the owner/designer. The shop that built it did a beautiful job. :smt023

Yes, you can see the passenger side front seat is swiveled in this view.

I've mentioned this car several times on here. It is a 1956 not a 1957. The owner had it custom built at a huge expense. It is not one of 80 made. I can't imagine him selling it.
