How much did galvanizing the frame cost?

What kind of paint did you use to paint the frame and the rear axle?

Re: My 1972 Lincoln Continental
I can't find any info on that paint. I meant to ask what chemistry the paint was. Enamel? Acrylic? Ceramic? Epoxy?
I'm planning on having my frame powder coated after galvanizing. Yes, overkill, but it's for my first convertible.

Re: My 1972 Lincoln Continental
Dan,
My son wanted the frame of the '57 we have powdercoated. To be honest with you I (not him) would go paint if I had to do it again. The powder coat it great until it chips the rust appears and the rust runs under the next section of powder coat and that chips etc. I touch up the frame with paint. I see this on new car frames also some are powdercoated and chip.

Wow... what awesome looking work. I really liked the look of the frame in raw zinc! Pity that the stuff turns dull over time. Looking great and I can't wait for more photos!

I'm going to be powdercoating over zinc. But chipping could be a problem with any paint. I think you got an inferior powder coating job.

Re: My 1972 Lincoln Continental
Dan,
The '57 sits on a Jim Meyer racing frame. There is 2 pieces of square channel in the rear. The powder coat did not get inside the channel and I got a small chip and then rust. That is how I saw the chip.
At a friends shop I have seen Ford frames that were powder coated and chiping and rusting. The powder coat in front of the rust was starting to bubble. I have also seen the same on some 20-24' open car trailers.
