Ahh! Now I’m with you. Looks like the D0AZ part is out there as well. Good luck!

West Coast Classic Cougars have neither the shift collar nor the steering column assembly.

Lincoln Land and WCC have nothing.
Quality auto parts had 1, but when they pulled it was damaged.
Can't find anything on e-bay either. Maybe I'm not sure searching right?

They have 10 of those cars in their bone yard. You can also check John's Salvage in Seguin Texas, he has a lot of old stuff out there!

My 55 actually came out of John's and Tony here has purchased a ton of parts from him over the years.

I didn't think it would be that hard to find, I have a Mk V parts car, and compared the one from an '84 truck, and they appear identical. Is the Mk IV a unique part?
I could pull the head from that truck column if it will work, but it has some wear in the pin, and it's a lot of work to pull it apart.

I have reached out to ctautoranch and await their response.
The only issue with another vehicle (ie truck or t-bird) is I believe the part is unique to having tilt steering.

You are correct, fixed and tilt are different, the picture is of a tilt. I think the areas of concern are where the shift indicator attaches, diameter, and length.

Oh, yes, they know me on sight when I manage to go there...and I think they may see me more often after this year, presuming that everything I've started carries through with no surprises.

I know that John's in Seguin has a few Mark IVs in his yard; I think I can remember seeing at least three, maybe four. But I cannot speak for the presence, types, or conditions of the steering columns for those cars, as I never had a reason to investigate any of them for parts. I'd suggest trying him out as well, just to see if you have other options. If they do have good columns, they are bound to be a lot cheaper than CTC's offerings. I know from experience with both yards.
