I just installed the Bird Nest unit and I must say, it couldn't have gone easier. Works great and let's me smooth out the rear window as it''s going down. I always start the car when I work the top. Key has to be on anyways, so might as well save the battery... Highly recommended.

After getting interested from reading the previous posts, I just installed one today on my 63 as well. It is very cool. Took me a while to figure out where to wire it in, but after that it was a piece of cake. Very glad I did this.

Hi guys,

First of all I am sorry for being disconected for a while, restored three cars in the last two years.
Today I found this video on youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73BeDt9um_8

and I like the idea very much so I came into this post. I have found these kits online:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1961-1966-F ... 11?vxp=mtr

http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_thund ... 60-62.html

It looks they operate the top only. So I´ve got a question for you, is there any kit that operates the top and the windows as well??

I´ll be more than grateful If you have any better suggestion about where to order this kit or may give any extra info about remote power windows.

Cheers,

Alex

Resurrecting this helpful post that started in 2010 to add some installation info.

I bought a remote for my '63 LCC from the Birds Nest. Would rather have it mounted in the trunk than under the dash. So inquired and confirmed that you can connect the UP and DOWN wires to the circuit that feeds from the under the front dash switch that's in the trunk by the relays. See picture (circuit labeled 81D). You can grab power on the bus bar back there (and ground it too).

It looks pretty straightforward so am going to install it this weekend.

The remote control "receiver" installation in the trunk was really easy. The remote works just as advertised and am very happy with it.

I installed mine a while back. I'm also very pleased with how easy it was to install in the trunk, and the way it works. However, I do find that I use it much less than I thought I would.

The top control switch will still work as it always has. This is just a second method to operate the top.
The Birds Nest is where you should purchase it.

A cheap alternative is to get a wireless winch controller. I got 2 for 40 bucks (Canadian!) from Amazon, just installed one on my Lincoln tonight, hooked it in parallel with the yellow and red wires from the dash switch at the relay panel in the trunk. I relabeled the “In” & “Out” buttons on the remote to “Up” & “Down” and away you go. These kits come with one keychain remote and one hand held remote about the size of a garage door opener.
The 2nd kit I plan to install on the winch on my car trailer.

Can someone tell me what wires in the trunk I need to use on a 1967 to connect this?
