I got the one from Brewer and it's too large to fit in the booster on my January build '69 Continental Sedan, even without a grommet. John says he's sold a bunch of these even for '69's and never had them not fit.
The booter check valve for 1969 Lincoln Continental is different than 1970.
The booster is made by Bendix
The check valve part number is C9SZ 2365 A
Also used on 1969 to 1974 Continental Mark Series
And 1968 to 1972 Ford Thunderbird from 08/12/1968

The brake booster made by Bendix is used on all 1967 to 1969 Lincoln Continental models is C9VY 2005 A. Except limos.

I suspect the valve you got was for a Midland-Ross booster.

Yeesh...! I can imagine the increase in heart rate with that situation, Wayne!

MFE, that's odd the Brewer valve didn't fit; it should, though there's really no telling what unannounced changes or tweaks to booster design they employed. I know the arm that attaches to the pedal was noticeably different from the boosters of '66 thru '68; it was longer. Maybe it's possible that the valve was a change they made that we were not yet aware of. But, I'm wondering if maybe a check valve from a 1970 model would work instead in your case...?

I have found one, the seller says this one (which I can't use) is C9SZ2365A that Action mentioned:
C9SZ 2365 A.JPG
I pointed out that that's not the part I'm looking for, and he came back with this, which IS what I'm looking for, says it's a NOS piece for a Midland booster. Hard to make sense of it all since supposedly the Midland is the earlier booster and there's no way the part Brewer supplies is going to fit this booster without enlarging the hole.

You would want to ask about the diameter of the grommet.
Specifically the hole size the grommet was made for.

He sent other pics I didn't post here, that's exactly the piece I have including the grommet. Some kind of unicorn.

A-ha, so it seems my guess may have been right: A mid-year change Ford never publicized. Definitely snag that if it's right for your booster! While you're at it, see if you can find out what other cars that valve is supposed to fit. It can help other '69 owners, I'm sure.

So I have the part in hand now, and supposedly the correct part number for *my* application is C4AZ2365A, which listings available on Google say is for a '64-68 with a Midland Ross booster. Mine is a mid-year-build '69. Strange.
