Is this 1979 Mark V a Cartier Edition?

Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

For fun I pulled up the link Action provided and studied it, comparing its info to the shot of the OP's picture of the warranty decal on the car in question. The YU roof code and the FU interior trim code are clearly denoted on the link...which means that, without any question, the answer to the OP's original question is yes. This car is a proper Cartier. That established, the black coloring of the lower flanks is, also without question, a non-factory mod, either as part of a rust-repair job or as a preventive measure such as that which Fraser noted. Being that 42 years had passed between the car's "birth" and the OP's post, either is a very plausible possibility.

Black color ?? It looks maroon to me. A match to the maroon strip on the vinyl roof leading edge trim.
