1964 Lincoln Continental Build SoCal ---- Pics Inside!

This area is for those who need help modernizing their Lincoln for purposes other than strict restoration. Such questions can be about adding an electric fuel pump, adding fuel injection, boosting horsepower or gas mileage, or tightening or lowering the suspension. Body customizing and chopping can also be here (although this practice is not encouraged by the LCOC).

I ended up liking the access hole that was there.. so I built a removable panel to cover the hole in the trunk. Then I carpeted it.... Ill tackle the rest of the carpet later...

Lots of blood and sweat polishing all the interior trim. I also put in a new carpet kit, and dyed the seats and panels.

The white wheels and chrome caps look good. What is the name of the seat dye product you used? Seats look good.

Thanks Defrang! I like the color setup too. I felt that the off white really went well with the baby blue. As for the seat coating, I used Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating. They sell it here at the local Autozone. Pretty inexpensive stuff. So far it has held up well. I did scratch 2 of the door panels when I kept removing them to do things inside the doors, but it was so easy to fix... just a light spray over that spot... it blended in perfect. I will eventually get new interior.. but I figured in the meanwhile, I wanted everything to match and this worked out perfectly.

Much respect to the work you and so many on this forum do to their cars. I wish I had the patience and temperance to be able to do such things. My patience seems to be waiting for the auto shop to complete work that my hard earned $$$$ is paying for. I should have looked further into dying the seats/interior before taking on the cost of the interior I am having done. I will definitely recommend this to someone wanting to freshen up their interior vs the cost of redo. I can only assume it would look even better if the dye is close to the original color. If I see correctly your turned red and/or light blue into black. Impressive. Is there a bleeding to this product? I would hate to see you get out of the car on a "hotchurchsunday" and have a black butt on your "sundaykhaki's".

Thank Jtheye! Yeah, I enjoy tinkering... so working on a project was very enjoyable for me. I'm at a stopping point for now, I'm just prepping up to do a motor swap. So I will enjoy her and drive her around for a few months before I gut the motor and slap in some dependability. ... and gas mileage. As for the seat dye... so far so good. I've had her out all day in the sun and no bleeding at all. I have been pretty impressed with the product as of this point... I don't know what it will look like in a few years, but it will get me by for now. I will eventually.... way down the road... get all new interior. I am focusing more on driving it at this point. I'm not trying to make a show car... but more of a daily driver fun car that looks great. As far as cost.... I paid maybe $60 to do all my interior in black... and most people don't even know that the front seat was blue and all the other interior... including the dash was red or blue. I will update more after I get some pictures uploaded. Thanks for the kind words!

Here's my first updating post in a while... I picked up these '65 tail lights on Sunday... they looked pretty sweaty when I first picked them up... but I gave them a good look over and saw that they had minimal pitting... so I put some elbow grease into them... and got them to shine up nice and pretty. I have little cracks in my old tail lights.. so surprisingly enough.. then tail lights that came with this set were in great condition.. no cracks... I just had to sand them and polish them out and they look almost as good as new. So my pretty little 64 will get a new set of lights and some jewelry for her pretty booty! That's a win / win in my book.

Just some Never Dull and a polishing wheel... Lots of elbow grease to get the little nooks and crannies.... I am pretty happy with the results.
