Tricks For Removing Flip Panel Torsion Spring?

Anything that pertains only to a convertible goes here. Such as: Top material, pads, mechanism, hydraulic pumps, switch and relay mechanisms, latches, etc.

Tricks For Removing Flip Panel Torsion Spring?

Post by Deco »

My '67 is in the body shop for a re-spray (wow I have had it long enough to need to freshen the paint). The body guy asking if there is an easy way to remove the torsion spring on the flip panel. Apparently he had a bad experience with a Honda years ago that used one. Any suggestions so that he does not have to go into therapy? - haha.

Get a trunk spring tool. You'll need it.

They are easy to remove, hard to reinstall.
