Which fluid in a rebuilt transmission.

Hi, quick question. I am installing a fully rebuilt tranny in my '62 and am confused as to which fluid needs to be used. I have seen posts here stating Dexron for a completely rebuilt unit with new clutches, plates and seals but then there are others who say only Type F.

If Dexron is the one to use as there are 2 types Dexton II and Dexron III, so which one should I use?

All rebuilt transmissions should use Dexron II or III. It really doesn't matter.

I run Dex-III in my 63 sedan and it hasn't even had a rebuild. I just did complete flush (converter included) and filled with Dex.
2009-ish and still going strong. Just my 2¢ worth.
