1969 Mark III Passenger Side Mirror Verification

Post by Buddy67Lincoln »

I bought a mirror thinking it was a 67-69 Continental right hand mirror just to get it and its a Mark mirror. This is the part number C9LB-177437A 60322-401. What is it?! Just need to know if its actually a right hand mirror. Want to sell it asap. Thank you. Not familiar with Mark III at all.

It is definitely a starboard-side mirror.

Thank you; I got rid of it after some serious bickering about getting my money back. He paid me back finally so he can deal with it...buyers beware! get those part numbers first!

Definitely for a Mark III. The spine of the base is the tell tale. Marks have a ridged peak molding which matches this mirror. 66-69 Lincolns have a flat peak molding which also corresponds to the flat spine on the mirror base

These shots are excellent visual aids of the description I had tried to put into words, regarding the question of adjustability. See the nut inside the stem? That nut clearly secures the separate head to the stem with the aid of cast tabs, something the clap-door versions never had. I had wanted to loosen that nut to test my theory whether these Mark-III mirrors could be adjusted for different sides of the car; but the clearance is very little, and I never acquired a socket with walls thin enough to insert.
