The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
This "forum" is really a place to showcase links to other places that are of interest.
If you post a message suggesting a link, I will consider making it part of the forum itself.

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
I thought it might be nice to have a link to the LCOC Forum here. I suggested this in another thread but got no response one way or the other.
Also, maybe a link to the LZOC , Road Race Lincoln Registry and the Lincoln Motorcar Foundation.

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
Please assist me by giving the actual links to these places.
I will make a sub-forum link for each.

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
Dan, Is there sufficient interest to have an 80s Town Car forum?
I just bought my second 80s T.C., and thought that there might be folks who would wish to opine and compare various '80s TCs, plus opine on options and interior decors, such as Signature versus Cartier.

Great idea putting related hobby links a single thread.
The Road Race Lincoln Register didn't work. The whole topic of Lincolns in competition is an interesting one that ld like to read more.

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
The problem with having a 80s Town Car forum, or any specific model forum, is that the rest of the forum is already divided by areas (Engine, Trans, Electrical, convertibles, etc.), and meant for all models. If you create a sub-forum for a specific model, year range, etc, now you have EVERYTHING for that model lumped into one forum.Gerald F. Should the forum be sub-divided by cars or by topics? I've always felt that topic makes the most sense because even if someone hasn't posted specific information about your particular car, say, about windows, maybe someone has already answered a similar question about it for a similar year or model. The details might be different, but the general issue is potentially addressed.
Specific models can probably get their own sub-forums for ONLY those things that apply to them, like brochure uploads, specs (like you said), and pictures. I'll have to think about it and see if maybe I can come up with something more flushed out over the holiday break.

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
These were links posted back in 2010. The internet has a very short life cycle and links become outdated or change. I was able to find this link to Hemmings' Road Race Lincoln Register . . .CMP-Phil wrote:The Road Race Lincoln Register didn't work.linc64 wrote:Road Race Lincoln Register--http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/roadracelincoln/
. . . not sure if it is the same as what Jim had posted back then, but it's through Hemmings and has a lot of nice info: http://clubs.hemmings.com/roadracelincoln/

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
I do wish somebody would put together something for the '80s Lincolns similar to the great work that was done by Automotive Mileposts for all of the '50s-'70s American luxury cars. The Panther Lincolns had so many trim levels, especially the Mark VI. I just don't think there is a lot of talk about these cars (yet). They were compromise cars and still today have only a niche following. I do seem to get a lot more gas station offers for my '83 the last couple of years, though.Gerald F. There's a FaceBook group for the '80-'89 Town cars and Mark VI. https://www.facebook.com/groups/490352411068577/

Re: The Specialty Link sub-Forum!
IF that were to happen, I would suggest something like the following:Dan Szwarc wrote:Should the forum be sub-divided by cars or by topics?
Continentals
General discussion on topics related to Continentals from 1940s to present day.
Marks
General discussion on topics related to Marks from the Mark II to Mark VIII.
Town Cars
General discussion on topics related to 1981-2011 Town Cars.
Late Model and Current Sedans
General discussion on topics related to LS, MKS and Zephyr/MKZ.
Late Model and Current Crossovers, SUVs and Pickups
General discussion on topics related to Aviator, Blackwood, Mark LT, Navigator, MKC, MKX and MKT.
Other Lincoln Models
General discussion on topics related to Lincoln models not categorized elsewhere including Capri, Cosmopolitan, Premiere, Versailles, etc.
However, I don't know if any of this is necessary including the 1980-1989 Town Car sub-forum just created. As long as individual topics under "Miscellaneous Lincoln-related Discussion" are clearly titled, it should get the appropriate responses/traffic.
