Heh. That's what I thought as well.

Re: Lincoln Parts Suppliers: AKA The Usual Suspects

Here's an article from a local paper about the Baker's fire. https://www.norwichbulletin.com/news/20190117/officials-putnam-auto-business-blaze-accidental Well, shucks. I thought I would pull up the Baker's website just to see if there was an update on their status. Their web server now redirects y...

1969 Continental sedan body compatibility

I have a 1969 sedan that needs fender and quarter panel repair. I may have someone form the pieces for me, but will consider cutting pieces from a parts car (or using a whole front end if it is in good shape). My question is - what (if any) other years have the same body panels? I only have Google I...

Re: Reliable Body Shop in Michigan

I normally loathe to bring a thread back from the dead, but in this case I thought it was important just as a warning to others in Michigan. I went today to retrieve my car after spending THREE YEARS in painter's jail. In all that time, all that was done was a little bit of floor pan patching, a lit...

Dual reservoir master cylinder kits

Today I went to take a ride in my 1965 Sedan and the brake pedal went to the floor.
So, I thought now is a good time to switch to a dual reservoir master cylinder. Alas, I just found out about the disaster at Baker's Auto!!!

Does anyone else sell a dual reservoir master cylinder kit?

Re: 2018 Annual Lincoln Homecoming

I went to the show yesterday and was really disappointed. There was only 39 cars on display. The swap meet consisted of: one lonely air cleaner on a table.

Re: Reliable Body Shop in Michigan

While I don't have a suggestion on where to take it, I will take this opportunity to point out two places in southeast Michigan you should not take it. Both places held my 69 hostage for waaaaay too long:
Deptula Performance in Brighton (drivetrain work)
Wicked Paint in Brighton (body work)

Re: POT METAL

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. If you want concourse quality, there is none better than Advanced Plating.

Photos needed - Paint code S (Medium Gold Metallic)

I have a 1969 Continental that will be heading for the spray booth in a few months, and I am debating whether to go with the factory color or some slight variation of it. The paint on this car is too faded to get any idea what it looked like originally. So, I was wondering if someone out there with ...

1979 Mark V HVAC fresh air intake location

I have a 1979 Mark V that has a bit of odor coming out of the upper vents. I also happen to have a brand new organic encapsulator from Adam's that I've been wanting to try. Since this HVAC system doesn't do recirculating, my next best bet is to just spray it where the fresh air intake is. So, before...

Re: Is this an unstretched limo?

Hmm, the tail light is an interesting observation. Here is a photo of the front. You can see it has the lettering on the hood. The title says also says it is a 1969. It has a 460 in it. http://www.xsrpms.com/~racerx/pics/lincoln69pics/IMG_2553b.JPG September 25 is a very early 1969. Possibly so LP c...

Re: Is this an unstretched limo?

To me it seems unlikely as when stretched any wiring harness would have to be cut. I would assume LP would have done any special wiring during the body conversion that was necessary for the limo conversion that was planned. Do you really think they would have just cut the existing wiring? Correct m...

Re: Is this an unstretched limo?

Other than the door tag and the extra set of wiring, nothing jumped out to me as being different. The VIN is 9Y82A857008. The build info is: Body Type: 53A (4 door sedan) Color: S (3199-A - Medium Gold Metallic) Trim: 2Y (Light Nugget Gold leather & vinyl) Date: 25J (September 25) DSO(omestic Sp...

Is this an unstretched limo?

I started taking this 1969 Continental apart, which appears to be a run of the mill Continental: http://www.xsrpms.com/~racerx/pics/lincoln69pics/IMG_0708b.JPG This caught my eye right off the bat. And the VIN on the door matches the one on the dashboard. http://www.xsrpms.com/~racerx/pics/lincoln69...

Re: Photograph of 1969 Continental hood latch needed

Disregard. I got it open. The latch is pretty much the same as the 1965 latch, but getting to it is much harder. The "big box" in the way was the HVAC box.
I took several pictures and will add a post to the emergency hood opening thread when I pull them off the camera.
