Re: 1966 Lincoln Continental Timing Chain Replacement

Hi All, This weekend I am going to replace a few things in the car including the timing chain/gear... I know that the PS pump is behind the crankshaft.. I don't need to disconnect the hoses or drain it right? I can just unbolt and move to the side? Nope. Best to disconnect both lines. One is a hard...

Re: 1964 Brake Pedal Hissing?! NEW Booster and Dual Master

Those are for the door locks. Locate their mates.

Either add clamps or cut the last 3/8" off and reconnect. Pay attention to the green and red lines or your locks will be backwards.

Re: 1964 Brake Pedal Hissing?! NEW Booster and Dual Master

There’s only two places the booster can leak. One is the diaphragm, which is new. It’s should not leak. The other is the plunger inside the booster that seals against the portion that the master bolts up against. Pull the master back to expose the plunger and remove it. Inspect the rubber disk that ...

Re: 63 won't hold 3rd gear after Edelbrock carb swap

The throttle rod angle to the new carb and the throttle bellcrank is incorrect and the kickdown is being activated.

You can observe this condition if someone pushes the throttle while you watch the linkage yourself.

I had this very same problem. Drove me nuts. Here's my old thread.

Re: Intermittent tick after waterpump rebuild

Make sure the bushing is between the water pump post and the fan clutch. It’s the only way to ensure it’s centered.

Re: 64-65 Lincoln Convertible Rear Door Window Leading Edge Seal,

The old seal may be glued in. Save the upper tip unless the new seal comes with one. There’s a screw at the bottom holding the seal in the track. Open the rear door, close the latch with a screwdriver and the window will go up. Remove the old seal, slide in the new one as a dry fit, glue as needed. ...

It really isn’t. You can browse all you want without an account. If you get deleted, just rejoin when the time for contribution comes.

Re: 1966 Lincoln Continental A/C Issue

Do you think this is a ATC/brain issue? It seems like mine has been converted to 1968 ATC. I do. The blend door is controlled by the brain. Something is sticking inside which is preventing it from switching back and forth. Or something broken. Or loose. Etc. The brain probably needs a careful going...

Re: ford mercury monarch 1980 front windshield

Your actual VIN is 0W33F617558 without the nr (unless the prefix is added for export or something). The Windshield Part number for a 1980 Versailles is D74Y-5403100-A and NAGS number W882. It is the same as any 1977 to 1980 Versailles. The Part number is NOT the same as a 1980 Monarch/Granada which ...
