Re: 64 Jigsaw project

Got my dash insert panel and headliner trim from the USA.

Deciding whether or not to put a dash speaker in. Don’t have a factory radio.

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

Been busy dam it so not much Lincoln time. Removed the front windshield to install trim clips, they a push on type and was very happy 😃 to find them in my box of parts. Was trying to fabricate the missing dash insert but gave up. Made contact with a Lincoln specialist shop here in nz, he found the d...

Windshield clips needed for 1964

I removed my windshield today because I had no clips to attach the trim to. Was going to drill holes and and attach some mopar clips with screws. Luckily I did some research and a picture on the Lincoln Land website showed the clip was a Push On type. I never seen that before. I looked in my bin of ...

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

Was keen to get the lower dash in but will leave it until i get the car running as I might have wiring or vacuum issues. Got some new bulbs for instrument panel, have put them in. Got on with the rear driver door belt sweep, watched 2 Nathen Wilson video clips. Thought i had to rivet the trim on but...

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

The lower dash panel, glovebox etc needed a repaint. Did that yesterday. Colour match is close, you won’t notice the difference due to the different angle. Am thinking of repainting the top dash pad as it does have some small marks that would show if I tried to touch up. Have to pull windshield soon...

Re: 64 beltline window sweep

Thanks Fraser.
I also just found a Nathan Wilson video on the window belt sweep. I forgot to search his videos. Saw one on vacuum lines too which is a bonus.
Thanks again.

Re: 64 beltline window sweep

I have just figured out how to use the draw function on this iPad. Sorry for the double up of photos. 1st photo. - yellow arrows point at stainless trim in place. You can see the opening where the rubber sits in 2nd. - the J shaped rubber. It has a small lip on opposite side to the long lip, looks l...

64 beltline window sweep

Am going around in circles trying to figure out what rubber/belt/whisker to use and what position it sits in the trim. I have the stainless trim and know how to attach it to the door frame. Some photos would be great. I have 2 pieces of J shaped rubber moulding, the straight part of the J has metal ...

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

With interior vacuum lines sorted , under dash wiring in great condition, and steering column in, I decided to trial fit the lower dash panel. Fits nice, got 2 small areas to dolly the edge, but happy enough. It needs a repaint. I didn’t realise the it, was a vinyl over steel. No using sandpaper.. I...

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

Spent an hour getting the vacuum lines hooked up to inside control unit. Not much space for large hands.

Got instrument panel in.

Re: 64 Jigsaw project

Thanks Ford engineer who decided to colour make the firewall block. Just removed block and very happy to see lots of colour.. firewall side of block very dirty which is understandable. I didn’t think to clean it up in place. Will take photo for reference for me and others to view
