Re: 1965 - Leftover part - Any ideas?
My guess is it's a bumper for the column, but I have never worked on one so it's just a guess. Does it make a klunk at the end of it's travel?

Re: Accelerator (gas) pedal
I don't think it will work, the fulcrum (hinge) is too high, if you extend the linkage through the floor, its travel will be to long. Also, the more upright stance will be too close to the brake. I will see what I can find next week, the rain has started here, and I won't be out there to look, for a...

Re: Accelerator (gas) pedal
I have at least four old ones, but the treads (ribs) are tatty looking, if the OP has found something that looks decent and works, that would be great for all the fussy people out there. Louisville trucks were built until '98, so their parts may be easier to find.

Re: Accelerator (gas) pedal
Interesting. The L series (Louisville) trucks were Fords newest highway haulers at that time, the high cab, compared to the engine, makes sense for an underside pivot linkage like that. It also makes sense to re-use that part when designing it. I hope you will post pictures of both, when you receive...

Re: 62 replacement body panels or fiberglass parts
There is a place in Quebec, Alfa Parts, which makes some patches for '66, but I didn't like them and sent them back, I don't know about '62 parts. Used panels are rare and expensive, and may still need some patching.

Re: 1962 Peak Trim
They are hard to find in pristine condition, most will be wavy, and they are difficult to straighten. I think John Brewer has the rear curves and antenna bezel ('61-2) new, but the front pieces are easily damaged, so almost impossible to find.
Flea bay will want a hundred dollars plus, for each piece.

Re: 1966 Front Shock Absorbers
We have a Fastenall here, and I used a lot of their hardware when building my shop. I can trust their quality, but they only sell in bulk. Chinese hardware, even when marked with the correct grade, is dubious, and I prefer to use a rusty OE bolt, than a shiny new one from a dubious source. I think t...

Re: Accelerator (gas) pedal
The Lincoln pedal is unlike anything I have seen in full size cars or trucks, but Mustang and T Bird use a similar boot underneath, so may be similar. If you can't find a repop, I have some useable 60 year old originals, but the tread ribs will be lifting.

Re: '63 Fuel gauge not working
Your car will have a 6 volt gauge, with a reducer, anything with a printed circuit is going to be 12 volt, I think. Both cars are within a few miles of North Battleford, I'm not sure of the year of the the closer one. Anyway, there is a wrecking yard here, closed for about 30 years, which has recent...

I may have found 2, '57 Lincoln parts cars, but you may have to take the whole thing. PM me for details if interested.

Re: Input Needed For an Irritating Water Leak
My computer ate all the pictures of that repair, I still have a love/hate relationship with computers. I will try to get some general pictures of the area in question, sometime next week, using the '66 as a model. The dash is mostly out of that one, so you can see the area. If your buddy from Kansas...

Re: Permanent 64 top removal
I saw a thread on here once about someone who did that, I think he had a '66. Forgive my negativity, but that would not be my choice. Resale value will be hurt, refitting the top would be costly, and you will need a safe place to store the top, for the future. Also, Calgary is not California, weathe...

Re: Input Needed For an Irritating Water Leak
Tony, most of this thread pre dates my time here, so it's new to me. I had a similar leak in my '67, right above the brake pedal, finding and fixing it was a huge ordeal, too complex to get into here. It was from inside the cowl, far left, top, you will need a borescope to see the area. I hope you h...

Re: Instrument (a/k/a Constant) Voltage Regulator
Just a thought, bear with me. I could not get a sender for my diesel truck and I had to fabricate one, I used a number of old and damaged ones until I found usable parts. What I found is, they all have an inside wire from the rheostat, to the mount, but the coating is different coloured for differen...

Re: 1966 Lincoln Continental 2 door circuit breaker location
I did this on both cars last fall, Re lubricating seat tracks under Body, trim and Interior. My solenoids were working fine still, but one plastic gear was broken in one transmission. Either way, you have to take it apart and inspect it. I also cleaned up the commutators on the motors, but the brush...
