While I was doing the alternator, one was changing the fuel pump while yet another was working on some window switches in the passenger door. What did we screw up? You probably didn't disconnect the battery while you guys were working. Many many interior lights come on when a door is opened. Foolin...

I'm at a loss at this point. I gonna have to break down and take it in to a shop and see what they can do. I haven't really been following this thread, but did you try loosely putting on the nut and beating it with a big hammer? Make sure there is enough room for it to "pop" out. (you mig...

Also I checked the regulator today at autozone and it failed I am recharging the batt and replacing the regulator (stupid question) I am sure that could a problem if not the problem of the drain am I right? That could definitely be your problem. In rereading your original post, you don't say how lo...

Did you swap out the distributer with a spare yet? The bushings are probably worn on the shaft.

I'm having difficulty in getting the upper ball joint to separate now. I've got my ball joint separating tool (aka pickle fork) and have hammered on it with a 3lb sledge almost to the end of the fork (fork just wouldn't go any further). And nada, it didn't budge a single milimeter. I've completed t...

. The mixture screws don't actually bottom out, they screw down to the compression spring length fully collapsed. I visually even them up by looking at the ventui bores screw tips peeking out of their ports. Get a tach and a vacuum gauge and adjust the idle mixture screws to get the highest vacuum ...

Re: headers / exhaust manifolds

Hi ! My car is 1958 Lincoln Continental with original 430 engine. The exhaust header on the passenger side needs to be either repaired or replaced. As far as I've been told it's not a good idea to weld it, so I'm looking for a replacement, new or used. Can anyone help me to find this part? I haven'...

Sorry guys the 8 MPG is for another luxury car in 1973  I have an EPA 1973 milage estimate guide but it's packed away somewhere. Maybe it's on the net somewhere? All 1973 cars got terrible mileage because the government forced emission controls on the auto makers without giving them enough tim...

Lugnut, did an done as you described. Since you have taken Lugnut's advice, next thing you should do is add a bottle of Chevron Techron Concentrate (20 oz) the next time you fill the tank. Get the good stuff ($6.99 at Pep Boys after a $3 rebate) not Proguard which is only 1/2 the strength. This stu...
