Re: Update from Locked Down Ontario, Canada

Hi Rick, When I was a teenager, my friend's Mom had a 74 Mark IV that we would always take for joy rides and into Toronto in High School if we had a double lunch :) My first love and always wanted one ever since. But the timing never worked out. About 5 years ago, when I was working on the solar far...

Re: Update from Locked Down Ontario, Canada

Hi Rick, I used to work in and around Smiths Falls and usually stayed in Perth and Kingston. home in Oakville now. Hi Stu, Great to hear from you. I'm in Smiths Falls, Ontario - forty miles south of Ottawa. By the way, my original post had spelling errors etc. and other mistakes. We're locked down h...

Re: HowStuffInMyCarWorks

True on all points :) While what on the surface this appears to be just fluff, but after just completing a coil pack swap and spark plug replacement on a 5V Audi 3.0 today, I've got to hand it to Lauren. Her demo was spot on! And she never swore once which is more than I could say. And would you rat...

HowStuffInMyCarWorks

I'm pretty good at turning a wrench, but I had to watch this several time to make sure I was changing the plugs in my Audi properly :)

Re: accessory belt replacement how-to?

Thanks for the replies. I've always used my thumb too, but that looks like a neat tool. I was trying to find the adjustment for the compressor, but can't see anything. Nor is it obvious for the alternator, unless it is hung upside down if you know what I mean and the tension is via an arc shaped bra...

Re: Brake (possibly Sure Trak) help needed please

Thanks Action, This what happens when I try to deal with an issue during the day. Work distracts me from the fun stuff and I don't think clearly! You are absolutely right and I should have thought about this too. Yes, to restate the issue, the is some boost assist but then it rapidly fades to a rock...

Brake (possibly Sure Trak) help needed please

Hello all, 1973 Mark IV. Braking starts with some boost, then none, resulting in rock hard pedal. Mechanic has replaced master cylinder and booster. Verified both are working properly. Suspects the ABS module or Actuator. Does this make sense to anyone? Please help as the car is unsafe to drive anym...
