Can anyone confirm that the fuse for the 1977 visor lamps is 7.5 amps? They are not listed in the owner’s manual, surprisingly, and the blown fuse I can barely read, but it LOOKS like 7 1/2.
Thanks.

It’s a bit complicated. This is from the 78 service manual, but I have no reason to doubt that they are the same.

I don’t think they are the same as the ‘77 owner’s manual does not list the visors under fuse # 7, the the fuse for the visor lights is INSIDE the visor, not at the fuse panel.

Really...? I didn't know that. Now, I can't remember the year of organ donor I cannibalized a couple visors from for the lighting mechanism, but I remember they didn't have fuses inside them. I had to splice in a couple external fuses to the visor circuits when I did that surgery to Frankenstein's visors. On the other hand, the engineers would fiddle with things all the time, year by year.

John, did you check your schematics to see what feeds those visors and if it splits anywhere from battery to end?
It may not show the fuse rating (which should be in the owners manual), but it should make sense if you trace it out.

Dan, I did t think to check the wiring diagram. I’ll do that and report back.

John, I believe the earlier diagram I sent identifies the in-visor fuse as 2 amp. If you click the picture, there’s better detail.

Got it and you are correct. 2 amp it is, thank you. Not sure why I missed that.
