:o Good heavens, even the Army would not fund an auto-skill center that good-looking! Not on Fort Sam, anyway.

My wife says i have a problem, I am too detail oriented!!! Lmao!!! Seriously, after playing in this car hobby for almost 50 years, i have learned that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself! So over the years i have learned how to do many chores, tasks, projects etc. but in order to do all these tasks you need special tools!! So if you have special tools, they have to be stored somewhere!! So i need a well organized shop! At least thats what I tell my wife!! Lol.
I would sooner spend the money on a tool to learn how to performa new skill, than pay someone to do it, but then have to worry about if it was done properly... Steve

That is NICE! I love the stained concrete floors in it. I should come down there and work in it for a week... I would have so much oil dry scattered on the floor you would be sweeping it up for years!

There should be a thread where we post shop pictures and tools...

Not to be a wet blanket. but my brother is still working on Zephyrs in his very nice shop. He doesn't like anyone to take pictures. We started in my garage 30 or more years ago, until he built his, and we thought my garage was something else. It was really dooded up right after I got my 63 in 1990. Now it is just a messy old, dark, garage. Oh well, life happens.

I'm having a issue after putting my rear drums breaks back together. The self adjusted wire has slack. It will not keep the bracket on the adjuster. It just slip off the teeth once I put the spring on. Do you think the wire is too long. Kit came from parts geek. "67' lincoln".

Compare to the original. Should be within maybe an 1/8” or less of the original or something’s wrong.

Bingo!! The new is .25 longer the than the old one🤦. I guess that's the slack. I wonder has anyone just taken it apart and recrimped one? I see alot of comments they are hard to find.

Frankly, if the old one isn’t frayed, I’d clean it up and re-use. It’s probably better than whatever we are getting labeled as new.

Chinese kits are of dubious quality, I always prefer to use the rusty old hardware. If your old ones are still okay, re-use them, one or two little frays will not matter.
I have NOS civv (61) cables at 11 1/8 inches, and a c3vv (63) at 10 7/8, the shorter ones have some yellow ink on the hook end as an identifier. My '67 uses the longer one, but I have not found any reason for this, all other hardware seems the same.
If you insist on shortening them, cut the hook end not the wire, and re weld it 1/4 inch shorter, Disclaimer, check with your lawyer first!

On the old line I could see the treads breaking. The one I had I did get it apart. Figure what the heck, I couldn't use it anyway. So I did get it open. Crimped it back together and it work properly. Nice and strong to. I did connect Lincoln Land to see what the cable length is in their kits. Waiting on a call back. Still need the other side. I will return the kit from Parts Geek.

Oops saw your message about cutting the wire after finished. Seems very strong though. Mine did have the yellow. I think half the wires were done it was about to break. The new kit I'll just just use the old wire and the new parts. But if not replacing the wire. I can just use all the old parts. Just replacing everything since I had it all apart.
