Lathed out some alignment pins this morning. The upper threaded bung will be welded to a plate. Also finished up a little welding. Plugged up the antenna and electronic eye holes.

Yes, turned sounds right. Is "lathed" even a word?

Unlike using a mill to make something you milled, I don't believe that one uses a lathe to make something you lathed.
But I could be wrong.

lathed, lathing
to shape on a lathe

Ok, then. I guess I could have looked that up.defrang wrote:transitive verb

It still sounds too much like "laid", not that there's anything wrong with that.

Dan, I like working in the shop on the lathing, but getting laiding is so much more fun...ha.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone.

Thanks for the encouragement. Saturday hustle. I got the deck panel all bodyworked and the body lines looking good. Epoxy primed then k38 fill primed. Back to where I was. Sometimes you have to do stuff twice or even three times to get it right. Always learning.

Re: '68 Lincoln "Lift-off hardtop" sedan- mild custom resto
Sunday hustle on the #Deviantlincoln
On the ground with the top on. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Feels good to be working on it again. Spent about three hours yesterday making custom clips to hold the trim on the back edge of the roof. In the middle is a little jig I cobbled together with scraps. There small about 1/2" x 3/4" stainless steel. I forgot how low she sits. Right at 1" at the rockers. Piece of 2x4 for reference.
