Re: 79 Lincoln Cont 4D 8 cyl

Send me a close up or straight on view of the hubcap here either in this thread or a private message. I believe I have 1 in my basement. I need to see what the center looks like. I believe it is an octagon with the Lincoln emblem in it? Send me a pic and I will go look and see which one I have and I...

That stuff is pretty impressive. Something you buy today that actually works as advertised. Reasonably priced and readably available like at Walmart or Home Depot. WOW! That is a find.

Re: Obscure moulding clip needs identification

I would give Mcmaster Carr a call. It might be a lot to go through their 700,000 part catalog but sending them the pic might get you some help finding them... https://www.mcmaster.com/

I might give Jim Wallace Interiors a call to see if they have any suggestions to make it better or preserve it... https://sites.google.com/site/1960slincolns/

Re: 1964 Brake Pedal Hissing?! NEW Booster and Dual Master

I believe that connection is under the carpet on the drivers around the left corner of the heel pad closest to the seat. Stretch the hoses that way and see. Mine were disconnected when I got my car and the hissed. Long time ago but if i recall, I had to take the sill plate off and lift up the carpet...

Re: Lincoln mark IV 1973 made in 1972

It is a 73 model year and 1973 specifications. Years ago, we all anticipated the new model year which they usually unveiled in September of the previous year. i.e. The 73 model year cars were released beginning in September of 1972.

Re: 1971 Mark III Receiver Drier Accumulator R&R

Classic Auto Air in Tampa rebuilt my compressor and receiver/drier. They cut it open replace the bag to a new or old freon compatible bag and send it back to you, like new.

Re: 15" Tires for my '63 LCC

Wayne, If you were speaking to me about expanding my thoughts, my valve stems are the rubber ones and stick out just far enough out to the hubcaps to check pressure and fill the tire when necessary. When you are driving the hub cap puts pressure on the valve and the soft rubber bends and lets the va...

Re: 15" Tires for my '63 LCC

every time I checked a tire for pressure and put them back on the tire went flat. There is a seal on the inside that goes bad. The only thing I need them for is to keep the hub cap in place so I drilled the valves out of them. Now i take them off, check the pressure and adjust ad necessary and put t...

Re: 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Sport 4dr Lucille

1Bad55hevy, I polished all of the original stainless on our '57 chevy resto. A lot of work and yes, I did damage and have to replace some of it and some of it just didn't polish up or after the "cut" wheel it showed more damage than I could fix. A bench grinder 3,600 RPM or more works fine...

Re: 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Sport 4dr Lucille

The stainless is polished, not chromed. If you go to eastwood.com there are some vids on polishing stainless. I am sure there are plenty of youtube also. If it is stainless, you can take the stainless cutting wheel and1st stage and "polish" or cut the paint right off it.
