Re: 63 STEERING BOX REPLACEMENT
Glad it all worked out Ken. Once again we are at the same stage in our builds. My steering gear is working great with no leaks and my steering is now tight as a drum. I agree the car is much more fun without 2 inches of play in the steering. Im driving every other day or so. Keep Cruising..

Re: Newer airbag setups
Munger, I had to cut my spring pockets pretty good and I did a tunnel mod like Pat did. Im 1 1/2 inches from pinch at the front end and 1 1/4 inch from pinch at the rear. I really cant go any lower without modifying my exhaust. My crossover pipe hits the ground and flexes for the last 1" of dro...

Re: 61 Lower Left Cluster removal advice needed
On the 62 I had there were around 4 bolts on top of the dash under the trim pieces. (if I remember right) The worst part I remember is disconnecting and dropping the steering column. I did 4 of these dash removals. By the 4th I think I had the dash on the bench in under an hour. Like I wrote earlier...

Re: 1963 Lincoln Electric Fuel Pump Question
Ken, Im hoping I had your problem. I had a 62 motor in my 63. Had vapor lock issues. I found a low mile 63 motor and installed this spring. I have a electric supplement pump but hope the eccentric will do the trick on its own.

Re: Newer airbag setups
I have the Choppin Block Stage 1. Stage 2 includes bracing that goes in once you cut the rear framework above the rear axle. Unless you are trying to lay frame with 22s I dont see the need. With 20s my axle will touch the frame and lay about 1/2 inch from the pinch weld. I actually put short bump st...

Re: 1963 Lincoln Electric Fuel Pump Question
I installed an electric fuel pump just to prime the engine for first time starts and in case I ever get vapor lock. My mechanical pump pulls fuel through it no problem. My pump is on its own switch so I only run it when I need it. Its great, you wont regret it once you fire up your car on a cold mor...

Re: Flywheel rubbing / grinding
Sorry to hear that Rick, Might be cheaper just to pick up a used trans someone has laying around. My trans guy said dont bring mine to him if it fails. lol Also, I just installed my motor with the modern bakers flex plate and after every start there is a ding ding ding scrape sound for a couple seco...

Re: Lessons Learned in Steering Work
Glad it worked out for you, That must have been some Swiss Army knife. Whats the difference if someone was to install the pump and the reservoir then turn the engine a few slow cranks by hand to prime it? Not trying to be a skeptic just trying to understand this pump.

Re: Lessons Learned in Steering Work
Wow, Appreciate the write up. This seems like a lengthy procedure. The Lincoln Old parts store has instructions for installation but they dont mention priming it prior to installation. Are you certain thats what caused the failure? Here is a link to their instructions. http://lincolnoldparts.com/pdf...

Re: Lessons Learned in Steering Work
Sorry to hear that Tony, Mine is on the assembled motor but the motor is not installed. Do I need to pull it or can I prime it on the crank?
