Re: 2004 Lincoln Mark X prototype to be auctioned

Eagle Vision was a rebranded Intrepid but I think that was the only one that wasn't an import. The Vision was based on the Chrysler Concorde/Dodge Intrepid and other Eagles were based on Mitsubishi, Renault, AMC or AMC/Renault models. Chrysler had owned part of Mitsubishi in the 1970s, 80s and into...

It was a modified (the exterior woodgrain wasn't a factory option) Ford Taurus station wagon.

Re: 2004 Lincoln Mark X prototype to be auctioned

Never knew Eagle was a division of AMC... Eagle wasn't a division of AMC, it was an AMC model. When Chrysler acquired AMC in 1987 they created the Eagle brand initially for AMC and Renault models being sold or in the pipeline, and other models later on. Wasn't the Eagle Talon a Mitsubishi? I rememb...

Re: 2004 Lincoln Mark X prototype to be auctioned

I remember "Eagle"...It was a very short run, wasn't it? They looked a little bit like Jeeps, didn't they? They had sedans, right? 'Course some people call these things "saloons". Wayne The Eagle you are referring to may be the 4-wheel drive AMC model. The Eagle brand was create...

Re: 2004 Lincoln Mark X prototype to be auctioned

Thanks for the info: it is good to learn these things. Am I now confusing Plymouth and Dodge, and something that seems to be missing, with Chrysler? No need to answer unless you are bored, as I think that many manufacturers have dropped divisions. I still have a Mercury to remind me of that. Wayne ...

papawayne wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2024 3:47 pm Imperial Crown Ghia must mean Chrysler? Wayne
Yes, from 1955 to 1975 and 1981 to 1983 Imperial was a brand/division of Chrysler similar to how Continental was a brand/division of Ford in the late 1950s. In 1964, "Imperial" was the make not the model.
